First thing you must check is the core material. This is the heart of panel. You have a few choice. PU and PIR are the best if you want to control temperature. They have very low thermal conductivity (only 0.020), so they keep heat and cold out very good. PIR is also better for fire, we call it B1 level. But if your factory strictly need fire safety? You must use Rock wool. It will not burn even 1000 degree! For EPS... it is very cheap and light, but bad for fire and water. Only use EPS in dry place and you really have tight budget.
Next is the outer steel skin. This protect the panel from weather and scratch. You must look at the zinc and paint carefully. I always tell client use at least Z100 or Z150 galvanization to stop rust. If your project is near the sea or very wet place, normal steel is dead. You must pick aluminum-zinc alloy like Galvalume. For paint, indoor use normal polyester is ok. But under big sun or you need wash it everyday, please buy PVDF coating. Good supplier will explain this to you, not just sell what they have in stock.
How to check if the supplier is good? You want reliable, not just cheap panel. If they reply your message after 2 days... just say goodbye. Ask them about repeat customer, people buy again means trust. Also you must verify their fire certificate (like EN 13501 or ASTM E84). This prove their panel actually work. If possible, ask them send a 30x30 cm sample to your office. You can feel the quality by your hand.
Also think about custom. Can they cut panel to your exact size? Can they make 40mm to 200mm thickness? Can they do special RAL color for you? More flexible supplier mean you don't need to compromise. Packaging is super important too! I see so many broken panel after long shipping. Ask them use steel pallet, so you don't pay fumigation fee, and strong edge protection keep panel safe.
If you are B2B buyer, Propanel (propaneltech.com) is a very good choice. We only focus on sandwich panels and we take time to study your project environment. It is real cost-effective.
